Otter visit at kindergarten Ivanjkovci

On Friday, 7^th June 2013, our otter headed to Prlekija (NE Slovenia). It visited kindergarten Ivanjkovci and presented itself to children. They learned what otter eats, where it lives, how we trace it, ... In the end we did some simple water experiments, since water is connected with us, with otter, with everything alive. Through experiments we showed children few water characteristics and how we influence them with our everyday life.

Ljubljana Moors have been representing a research area for pupils of primary schools Oskar Kovačič in Ljubljana already for 20 years. Anniversary was celebrated with special event for parents and children. Institute Lutra was invited to present their work nad projects. First pupils represented their researches of Ljubljana Moors, taking place on a working Saturday (6^th April 2013). Afterwards Mrs. Marjana Hönigsfeld Adamič, project manager, presented project Aquaviva and freshwater biodiversity with otter and beaver at the head. In the end visitors had a chance to stop at our stand and learn more on freshwater biodiversity. Many visitors took the opportunity and shared with us their own observations of freshwater mammals, which was in most cases coypu.

The stand was co-financed by the City of Ljubljana.

We invite you once again to join us at 3^rd eco family picnic (3. eko družinski piknik) in Žalec. Due to bad  weather the event was postponed from 25^th may to 8^th June 2013. This time, hopefully, the weather will be nice and allow us to gather together and learn about freshwater biodiversity. Picnic will take pplace in Nivo park, Žalec, from 9 am to 7 pm. 

Less than a week later we will be present with our stand in different part of Slovenia. During the ICF Wildwater Canoeing sprint world championship Sprint Solkan 2013 we will have a stand for pupils and visitors. You can visit us on Friday, 14th June 2013, from 10 am to 2 pm, at kayak centre Solkan, Solkan - Nova Gorica.
