Why would waste be only trouble, when they can be useful? Therefore we decided to select from all the junk collected during the cleaning actions some interesting pieces. Selected pieces will serve as inspiration and material for an artist at creating his vision of biodiversity. He will create three sculptures that will join our exhibition on biodiversity.

Pitna voda je ena najpomembnejših dobrin, ki nam jih nudi narava, in je posledica biodiverzitete. Zavedati se moramo, da bogata pestrost organizmov pomaga ekosistemom celinskih voda, da prečiščujejo vodo, črpajo iz njih težke kovine in hranila, zadržujejo mulj, preprečujejo prehitro odtekanje vode in poplavljanje. To je le nekaj funkcij vodnih teles v naravi. Toda potoki, reke, jezera in druga vodna telesa bodo lahko dobro opravljali te funkcije le, če bodo v dobrem stanju. Korak na poti k dobremu stanju je tudi odgovorno ravnanje z odpadki in odstranjevanje le-teh. Zato vabljeni, da se pridružite kateri izmed čistilnih akcij, ki jih organizirajo različne lokalne organizacije po Sloveniji. Aquaviva se zagotovo bo!

Drinking water is one of the most important goods that nature provides us with and it derives from biodiversity. We have to be aware of that rich diversity helps freshwater ecosystems with their functions such as cleaning water, pumping heavy metals and nutrients from water, withholding slime, preventing water from draining away too fast and preventing floods. In order to preserve these functions we have to keep water bodies in good state. One of the steps on the way of reaching this goal is cleaning actions. We invite you to join cleaning actions, organized all over Slovenia by local organizations. Aquaviva for sure will join!
