We started the week with an interesting nature education day for group the group Butterflies (Metulji) from kindergarten Vrhovci, unit Brdo. On Monday, 17th March, we met at the stream nearby kindergarten and learned about different stages of amphibian development.
Stream was an excellent classroom, where children could observe two different stages amphibian development, in our case of brown frogs. In a smaller pool we found frogspawn and tadpoles. We brought with us some adult common frogs (Rana temporaria) and toads (Bufo bufo). Children learned first-hand the difference between both species and differences between different stages of development. Back in the kindergarten, they made simple displays of stages of amphibian development.
Photos from the nature education day are available in the gallery. Nature education day was co-financed by City of Ljubljana.
