Today, on 9th April 2013, accompanied with otter I visited group Medvedki (Teddy bears) from kindergarten Vrhovci, unit Rožnik. First we made a circle and got to know mysterious otter: what does it eat, how do we track it, where is its den and how is adapted to water environment. We touched its fur and compared our size with otter. Children still have to grow a bit to be bigger then otter. When we learned about otter, it was to time for some creativity. We were colouring, cutting and gluing. Together we created a new home for otter. A pond filled with life. On the bottom there is crayfish guard, colourful fish are hidding among water lilies, on the bank frogs are croaking, above all dragonflies are flying. On the nearby tree a kongfisher is sitting and a beaver is having a snack. And somewhere in the middle is otter, taking care that everything is in its place. Biodiversity as "teddy bears" see it.
Nature education day was co-financed by the City of Ljubljana.
