Do you know Max from Bled? Can you imagine how big it really is? What about the black proteus from Bela Krajina? And small Danubian longbarbel gudgeon from the Sava River, which causes gray hair to designers of hydroelectric power? Come by to see them at the Tivoli Park! Along with other representatives of the rich biodiversity of our waters are on display in the Jakopič Promenade from 1 May until last June 2014.
The exhibition on the biodiversity of our rivers, streams, lakes and other aquatic habitats is after last year's successful exhibition »The Revealed River Wonders" - diatoms at Krakovski nasip also prepared by the Institute LUTRA. Again, this exhibition is the added value of the project AQUAVIVA LIFE - Live water from the tap to biodiversity and is not a part of the original project plan. The living beings of our water, which embellish and improve our lives, because they are with us here and now, are presented with the best of intentions, that everyone get to know them and actively stand up for their conservation.
Although the Jakopič Promenade Exhibition in Ljubljana is comprises of 120 exhibition panels, we were not able to bring all living species of our water to exhibition. There are too many - and it is good that way.
At the exhibition with its photographs participate Slovenian famous wildlife photographers and illustrator Jurij Mikuletič. The exhibited photographs are also award-winning photos from photographic competition LIVE WATER. The exhibition enabled the Ljubljana Tourism with free exhibition space and financial support, for what we are sincerely grateful.
Instead of opening, we will prepare special event on 22th May, the World Day for Biological Diversity with guided tour through the exhibition and plesant socializing. You are kindly invited! Details will be posted on the project website www.aquaviva.si, so follow the news.
